Fr. Walkine was born in Bottle Creek, North Caicos, Turks and Caicos Islands on Friday, 25th May, 1956 to the late Thomas and Isabelle Walkine. He was educated at Highbury High School in Nassau, Prairie View A&M University, Prairie View, Texas and Codrington College, Barbados.

At Prairie View, Fr. Walkine majored in Music obtaining a B.Mus degree in performance and a M.A. with a concentration in Music Education. At Codrington he obtained a B.A. (Hons) in Theology.

He was ordained to the Diaconate on February 2nd, 1983 being the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary and to the sacred Priesthood on January 25, 1984 being the Feast of The Conversion of St. Paul.

Fr. Walkine served his diaconate at All Saints Church, South Beach under the watchful eye and molding hands of the late Archdeacon Murillo Bonaby. He served as an Assistant Curate to Canon Dudley Strachan at the Church of St. George, Mt. Rose Avenue before being named the first resident Priest in Charge of St. Margaret’s Parish, North Andros.

After two years at St. Margaret’s Fr. Walkine returned to Nassau to serve as a Music Teacher at St. Anne’s High School and part time Assistant to Canon Strachan at St. George’s in the valley.

In September 1989 Fr. Walkine was appointed the Assistant Curate at St. Anne’s where the Venerable and Honourable Canon David John Pugh was the Rector. Upon the retirement of Canon Pugh in 1994, Fr. Walkine was appointed Rector of the Parish and served in that position until January 31 2011. On February 1 2011 he was appointed the Rector of St. Matthew’s Parish, Shirley Street, New Providence.

A musician at heart Fr. Walkine served as Assistant Organist and Choir Director at St. Barnabas Church, New Providence and also as Director of Music for The Lucayan Chorale, and the Anglican Chorale.

He is married to Janet (nee Bethel) and they have two children – Dr. Jennette Walkine, a public school Teacher with the Ministry of Education and Robert a Graduate of DrVry University, (B.Sc.) Orlando Florida, Full Sail University, (B.Sc.) Orlando, Florida, and Savannah College of Art and Design (MFA) Atlanta, Georgia.

An avid gardener Fr. Walkine while he was the Rector of St. Anne, took personal responsibility for the upkeep of the church’s gardens. He says he knows how our Blessed Lord felt when he was mistaken for the actual gardener.
